K.K. Sonata – Metal Cover

K.K. Sonata is one of my all-time favorite songs from Animal Crossing New Horizons. The original composition has a melancholic, 18th-century atmosphere and features a piano solo throughout thesong, without any accompaniment from other instruments.

For this metal cover, I wanted to bring power and energy to the song by incorporating electric guitar, bass, drums, and symphonic elements such as strings, choir, cellos, and violins.

The album cover art, depicting K.K. Slider parodying portraits of 17th-century German baroque composers, is a nod to the longstanding tradition of uniform, yellow titles on the cover art of albums released on the classical record label Deutsche Grammophon. I wanted to capture this with the use of funny outfits and character attitudes in the cover art.
